After the rain

It’s been raining for the last 5 days. Depressing. But the sun – it’s out today. The sky is freshly painted blue, only a few thin, wispy clouds. I looked down and noticed the grass had turned bright green. It was yellow and brown before the rain. Small, vibrant shoots on daffodils, hyacinths, and irises pierce the soil. The ground is heavy with moisture. 62 degrees they say. Lunch in the courtyard would be lovely.
